So before going to the big question of doing right things effectively Or doing effective things rightly?Let us look at some of the basic concepts of Craftsmanship , Organization and Modern Management .
What is craftsmanship ?
Craftsmanship can be defined as the as the skill possessed by a certain individual who has reached a highest level of precision and accuracy in his work. Now any single person can be a craftsman , cobbler , tailor, blacksmith all are craftsman as they work alone for earning their living. So Craftsmanship can be expressed as :
In current scenario Modern Management has taken a higher edge than craftsmanship .In this the focus is on deskilling the process that is breaking a complex process into very small parts so that these small parts are very easy to do and any individual can perform these tasks no particular skill is required for completing these tasks thereby removing the need of the craftsman. In this the complex work is divided into activities and then these activities are further sub divided into small and easy jobs.

In craftsmanship only one work is ongoing but in Organization parallel works are ongoing as the number of workers are more so many jobs can be completed in the same time simultaneously. The interdependency in the organisation is much more than craftsmanship where a single person do all the work independently. The skill level required in Organisation is very less as compared to craftsmanship where one needs to be the master in his work.
Now these 3 E's more or less form the ultimate objective of each and every process in the organisation. These are :
Efficiency is the ratio of your total output to your total input and effectiveness is how well your process is optimized to produce the desired result and excellence is getting more out of less for more. One important thing to consider here is efficiency is measurable but effectiveness is unquantifiable so should remember that :
